- Beautiful prequel to parachutes
There's not much to say.. If i had one reason to recommend this ep it would be for See You Soon. It is definitely the highlight on the cd - a beautiful song and an early glimpse at the talent of this fab 4-piece. It is also good to know that High Speed first featured on this; one of the better songs on parachutes. Also, the version of Don't Panic here sounds less engineered than the album version, so its up to you which one you prefer. Most die hard fans probably already have this, but i would heartily ... - Excellent companion to 'Parachutes'
OK, so this EP precedes 'Parachutes' but most people probably have the album before buying this. Of the five tracks here, two appear on the album. The version here of 'Don't Panic' is a nice alternative but far inferior to the album version, suffering from an eerier, over-produced sound. 'High Speed' is the same as on the album and arguably the weakest track here. However, this EP deserves at least 4 stars for the beautiful song that is 'See You Soon'. This track features just vocals, a beautifally ... Read More

- Probably Coldplay's BEST EP Yet
This is a superb album/EP and their best music yet including Don't Panic and Bigger Stronger which should have been on the album Parachutes. This music is before Coldplay became famous and is so beautiful and atmospheric with a different version of Don't Panic. Truly Amazing!!!

- HEAR HOW CHRIS SOUNDED B4 HIS AFRO WAS CUT
THIS EP REALLY SUMS UP THE SOUND OF EARLY COLDPLAY AND ALTHOUGH IT WAS NOT THEIR DEBUT RELEASE ( IT WAS THE 3RD THING THEY PUT OUT )IT REALLY DOES SUM UP HOW GOOD THEY WERE IN THOSE EARLY DAYS AND AT THOSE EARLY GIGS , SUPPORTING THE LIKES OF SHACK AND CAMPAG VELOCET ON AN NME TOUR A COUPLE OF MONTHES AFTER THIS RELEASE . THIS VERSION OF THE CD IS A RE-ISSUE THAT WAS MADE AFTER THE PARACHUTES ALBUM WENT TO NUMBER ONE , THIS IS A BIT OF A SICKENER TO THOSE OF US WHO FORKED OUT 30 QUID UPWARDS TO GET OUR HANDS ... - Coldplay-Before they were famous
Initally released as a promo EP for the band, this cd gives some idea of how coldplay have evolved, albeit within the few months which have lanuched them into superstardom. No cheery tunes like yellow here, emotions still exist, but packed in spooky tunes, echoy guitar overdubs and true heartfelt singing. Could be comapred to early verve and radiohead in style and sound, a must have to the die hard fan, otherwise simply a nice listen to for the normal listened.
