- Wow...just...WOW!
Well, I've read every previous Demonata book in a day each, and the Cirque De Freak ones, 3 a day because they were much shorter. As you may have guessed, I'm a Darren Shan Nut xD
This book follows effortlessly on from Deamon Apocalypse, which I absolutley loved. It centres on Bec, now living with Dervish in Carcery Vale.

- great horror series
From the first moment in book one, Lord Loss, when Grubbs Grady encounters the Demonata and their evil minions it is obvious to the reader that Darren Shan books are from a different dimension. Whoever is in charge you can absolutely guarantee a frightening ride through ... Read More

- Fantastic
a great new book in the demonata series
bec is the narrator (following the pattern, look out for grubbs as the next narrator) and this has plenty of action scenes and grisly bits like you would expect.
in short a very good book

There was a distinct lack of the fast-paced, page-turning action and danger that the other six had so richly possessed and much of it was unfortunately slow, with a few brief exceptions. For the first time in all my years of reading Darren Shan novels, I had to make an effort to read what is usually 'unputdownable' work. It seemed like the whole book could have been easily condensed ... Read More
