Aerobics and the Food Pyramid just won't yield that shape, argues Lou Schuler, certified strength-and-conditioning specialist and fitness director of Men's Health magazine. For weight loss and the Greek physique, he proposes the "T" (testosterone) plan: weightlifting and a diet of 33 percent each carbs (mostly low-glycemic-index), fat (the "good" kind), and protein; no alcohol; and minimal sweets and processed food. The book includes a meal planner, grocery list, and recipes. A 100-page, clearly illustrated weightlifting program progresses from circuit training to bodybuilding to power lifting, with both home and gym exercises.

    This book was helpful in understanding nutrition. It also goes into great detail about how your body reacts to different types of food. Some would not like this plan because there is no alcohol, then on the other side of the spectrum the runners would not like this book unless you are looking for a reason not to run.

    An excellent basic book on eating and working out for your gender type. I use it in helping recovering drug addicts learn good nutrition and exercise habits.

    I bought this book a while back, skimmed through it, then put it on the shelf. I recently brought it back out and have begun following its advice. The main thing I love about it is that it is finally a diet for guys. Most of the other stuff out there is geared towards a woman's dietary needs (even the ones that claim to be for everyone). It also includes strength training. If you've ever seen guys that have lost weight by starving themselves and not working out..you know how much it is needed.

    The book has changed my life. I am eating much more healthy and more often. I have been on the diet and excercise for 3 weeks now. I have lost 10 lbs and have gained muscle, along with testosterone. I would recommend it to everyone.

    I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to transform their body and is serious about it.

    I think that the most valuable thing in this book is the shopping list and the daily meal planner. That and it is about and for men. That is so rare in a society that praises Atkins and other fad diets (mainly for women)
