I thought this book was very well-illustrated for young children. The charts and tables and diagrams were easy to understand, and attracted interest in the text. This was an important book for me to read with my grandchildren because we live in New Mexico, where lightning is an almost daily event. The kids like all the books in this series--hurricanes, tornadoes and lightning being the favorites. They're easy to read and present the science in a very engaging and friendly way. I like the mix of personal stories and science information, especially.
