This is one of the only books from our home-school required reading list that my twin teen boys really latched onto and loved. They listen to it over and over again and I even bought it for my now 20-year-old son for Christmas. He was still SO excited! :) Really captures their attention and doesn't seem to get old over time. They prefer the recorded version as they like to fall asleep listening to the story. :)

This book talks about a boy named Tim Meeker who always likes his brother until now. It is approaching the Revolutionary War and Tim's father is a Loyalist, but Tim's brother, Sam, is a Patriot. His brother goes to fight for the Americans but Tim wants to join also. Tim is torn between beliefs. But surprising events led up to the death of Sam Meeker.
