Product Description:
Meet Ryan Fisher. He's young, energetic, and needs an edge in the real estate market. He's found the perfect niche: Christians. His business doubles when he advertises in the Christian business directory, and he begins to think he could really cash in by planting a church. But when the church takes off, Ryan is in over his head.

- A Surprisingly Enjoyable Book
I picked up this book for cheap (try free on Kindle), and wasn't expecting much. I was wrong; this easy to read novel is incredibly enjoyable. The plot moves quickly, skimps a bit on details, but keeps you interested. Don't expect a critical editorial on mega churches, or any political views. This book is mostly light-hearted while still poking fun at atheists and Christians alike, which was exactly what I needed when I read it. Keep your eyes out for a movie version, it would translate very ... Read More

- Waiting for Redemption
I really didn't like this book. I kept hoping for redemption - of the plot OR the main characters, but it just never happened. I think the idea behind the story has great potential in an Elmer Gantry sort of way. In fact, I suspect that Elmer Gantry was an inspiration for this book, but the author was just not able to carry it off. I could never quite figure out the purpose or targeted audience for this book. Even though the publisher is a large, prominent Christian publishing house, this book ... Read More

- This book is terrible
This is a terrible book! The characters are flat, boring and not believable. The dialog is akward and unnatural. I read other reviews for this book, they all mention that it is funny. I don't see how anyone found humor in it. Maybe I'm not in on the joke because I'm not a member of an Evangelical Christian megachurch, but I am Christian and attend a Lutheran church.
Anyway, this book was sketchy on a lot of details, everything feels very artificial and two dimensional. On top of that, ... Read More

- Satirical look at megachurches
Some other reviews have stated that this is a Christian-oriented book, while others state that the book does not spew Christian-based themes. I found it to be somewhere in the middle. After all, the book is a satire of the building of the mega church in American society.
Ryan Fisher is a charismatic salesman who dreams of a better life after finding moderate success selling homes through a Christian Business Directory. After deciding to expand his business by attending church, he observes the ... Read More

- I have a new favorite book!
I came across this book by accident and did not really know what to expect. You know, it was just another book to read. However, I was soon enthralled by the plot! All I could think about was getting home to read it. It'll make you laugh and cry and ponder thoughts as you realize that though this book is fiction, it presents church in a nonfiction way. I loved it! Good book, and a fairly easy read.
